There are several ways that you can donate to the outreach of Vessels of Mercy International. We are always in need of financial resources and supplies.

You can help Vessels of Mercy International by making a donation. Your help ensures that the resources are available to carry God’s practical love, assistance and hope to those in need.  Vessels of Mercy uses your gift to support programs that meet the physical and spiritual needs of hurting people in poverty-stricken areas of the US and around the world.

Donation FAQs-Giving

Is my credit card information secure?

Vessels of Mercy International takes every precaution to protect your contribution information. When you submit sensitive information via the Web site, your information is protected both online and offline. We use industry standard security protocol to communicate with your browser software, which makes it extremely difficult for anyone else to intercept the credit card information you send us. Companies we work with to process credit card transactions also use high-grade encryption and security protocols. Internally we work to accurately process your contribution information and apply security and privacy controls over the information. Why is there a minimum amount for credit card transactions?

There is a processing charge to Vessels of Mercy International for each credit card transaction, which makes it impractical to accept donations less than $ 20.00.

Can I change where I want my donation to go?

How will my donation be used?

Please read our stewardship statement and our annual report.

Can I dedicate my donation to someone or make a donation on behalf of a person?

Yes. You can make your donation a “tribute” to someone — in their honor or in memory of a loved one. Please enter the name and address in the Honor/Memorial Donation Information section of the Online Donation page or attached the information to your mail donation. Vessels of Mercy International will mail a letter to your recipient announcing that you made an Honor or Memorial donation. You will also receive a letter of acknowledgement with you donation amount and date. Click Here to donate online.

I would like to donate supplies to charity. Does Vessels accept in-kind donations?

Yes, call for the current list of items we are accepting.

Can I make automatic credit card donations?

Yes, please contact Vessels of Mercy International and we will assist you further. There will be a minimum-giving amount of $ 20.00.

Why do you require my email address?

Your email address is required so we can send you proper acknowledgment of your gift. Details of your donation are found on this email, which you can print and save.

I made a donation online (or a memorial/in honor of donation) and now I have questions about it. Who can I call?

To donate via stock:

Donating securities that have appreciated in value can be an extremely tax-effective way of giving. In most cases, you will be able to take the full market value of the securities on the date they are transferred as an itemized deduction, without incurring any tax on the gain represented by the difference between your cost and the current market value.

Employer Match

Employer matching gift programs are an easy way to increase the impact that your cash donation. Many employers encourage their employees to support non-profit organizations by offering to match employee donations. Perhaps your employer is one of these. In order to participate, take the following steps:

  • Step 1 Find out if your employer has a matching gift program.
  • Step 2 If your employer does participate, obtain a matching gift form from your Human Resources department or Personnel Department. You may be able to down the form off your Employer’s Web site.

Combined Federal Campaign

Eligible Donors include Federal Civil and Military Employees and US Postal Employees located in Central Virginia. The code for Vessels of Mercy Intl. is #48926, this number must be used to for funds to be given to Vessels of Mercy International.

Local Government & Schools United Way Campaign

Eligible Donors include local government and schools personnel in the Greater Richmond & Petersburg areas. The code for Vessels of Mercy Intl. is #414, this number must be used for funds to be given to Vessels of Mercy International.

United Way Code Vessels of Mercy

Eligible Donors include employees of private organizations and businesses in the Greater Richmond & Petersburg areas. The code for Vessels of Mercy Intl. is #7081, this number must be used for funds to be given to Vessels of Mercy International.

Private Organizations and Businesses may write in Vessels of Mercy International, 12081 Gayton Road Henrico, VA 23238 on their 2007 United Way Pledge Form to give funds to Vessels of Mercy International.


 

Donation of Medical Supplies and Equipment:

In an effort to help meet some of the vast unreached medical and dental needs found internationally, Vessels of Mercy, Intl. sends out short-term mission teams annually to minister to the immediate physical needs of people in poverty stricken areas. All care is rendered without expense to the people we serve but, as you can imagine, the amount of pharmacy, dental, and medical supplies that have to be obtained to care for hundreds of patients is an area of great need for our outreach clinics. We’re looking for individuals and organizations that would desire to help us meet these needs. We purchase supplies directly but also depend heavily upon in-kind donations. Please refer to the following guidelines:

Supplies:

We have on-going needs for:  ace wraps, eye-wash solution, over-the-counter wound and burn sprays, gauze, 4×4’s, 2×2’s, kling wrap, triangle bandages,  alcohol wipes, hand sanitizer, toothbrushes, new-flip flops, generic sunglasses, reading glasses, and dental clinic supplies.

Equipment:

Vessels of Mercy does not routinely accept medical equipment. However, we do have specific needs for the following new or lightly used equipment:  otoscopes, ophthalmoscopes, portable digital BP/pulse machines, portable vision screening equipment and dental extraction instruments.

We do not accept the donation of equipment that is not in good working order.

Medications:

We have on-going needs for the following: Antibiotics, antibiotic ointments, extra-strength (500 mg) and regular strength (325 mg) Tylenol, Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) 200 mg, children’s chewable Tylenol, Robitussin cough medicine, Mucinex, Kwell lice shampoo, anti-inflammatory ointments (Hydrocortisone), anti-fungal creams, antacids (Tums, Pepcid, Zantac), Multivitamins (adult, children’s, and pre-natal), Benadryl (adult and children’s chewables), saline/artificial tears eye drops, allergy eye drops, anti-wax ear drop kits, cough drops, stool softeners, and prescription ear and eye drops.

We do not accept the donation of expired or unlabeled medication or narcotic/controlled substances.

Solicitation Disclosure

Many States require charities soliciting funds within a State to register with the State agency responsible for regulating charities. Vessels of Mercy International is registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs and Services. A financial statement (990) is available from the State Office of Consumer Affairs in the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services upon request. Registration does not imply endorsement, approval, or recommendation by the state.
The Board of Directors of Vessels of Mercy International, Inc. desires to be an exemplary steward of the funds and resources entrusted to Vessels of Mercy International. We believe that our supporters can rest assured that their contributions not only reach people in need, but also advance the Kingdom of God.
Vessels of Mercy International Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization, and all gifts are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. For financial integrity and accountability, Vessels of Mercy International Inc. is audited by an independent public accounting firm, and our audited financial statements are available upon request at: Vessels of Mercy International Inc., 12081 Gayton Road, Henrico, VA 23238 or by calling 804-740-4575. Copies of our audited financial statement can be obtained by mailing a written request to Vessels of Mercy Intl. with a check for $15 to cover mailing and processing costs.

Use of Customer Information:
Vessels of Mercy International, Inc. will not share, sell, rent or otherwise disclose the personal information (name, postal address, e-mail address, phone numbers) of our contributors, friends, or partners without their advance permission, unless otherwise ordered by a court of law.
All personal information collected is used solely to contact the contributors, friends, or partners of the ministry in regard to their involvement of this organization. No staff member or volunteer will be allowed to disclose this information to anyone unless consent is given by the board and/or the President.
In the event of a dissolution, or reorganization of Vessels of Mercy International Inc., customer-donor information may be transferred together with its business operations.
The following statement is required in order to meet the Better Business Requirements, however we as an organization as stated above will not disclose personal information. Please contact us in writing to review personal information collected and request corrections and/or whether you wish your personal information to be shared outside the organization.
Security:
Vessels of Mercy International Inc. will take every step possible and make use of every means and technology available to us in regards to security measures to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under its control.
